Most children have a pediatrician who
give them their due vaccinations, and attend to their needs when sick.
In the same token, all adults should have an internist who, they call a
Family Doctor. They would see him once a year to get their annual
checkup, and to get updated on their vaccines
(Adult vaccination).
When they feel sick, they can consult with him to get the necessary
treatments.
For those who have chronic illnesses, an
internist can take care of their problems, and when the need arise to
see another specialist, he would refer them to the appropriate sub
specialist, and coordinate their care to avoid adverse interaction, and
prevent conflicts between different treatments. |
